About Jacquie
I bring a mix of professional training and lived experience to every service I offer. I’ve been working as a script editor since 2009, with industry credits and years of writing reports under my belt. As a writer myself, I’ve had more than ten plays produced by both my own theatre company and others, and I’ve supported new writers in getting their work on stage. My audio work includes co-writing The Da Silva Linings Ghostbook podcast and creating Excuse the Jess. I also write for TV (watch this space).
Beyond that, I spent six years at a Russell Group university proofreading and checking reports for bias across the education sector, and I’ve recently completed a Sensitivity Reading course with the London Screenwriters’ Festival and Lucy V. Hay.
All of this means I don’t just know how to spot what needs fixing, I know what it takes to get a story from page to production.
Script Report

A script report gives you a clear-eyed view of your work from the outside. It highlights what’s landing well, what might be holding the story back, and where you can sharpen characters, structure, or dialogue. Instead of second-guessing, you’ll walk away with practical, constructive notes that show you exactly how to make your script stronger and more engaging for readers, producers, and audiences.
Script reports start from just £40 for scripts up to 20 pages. Every report includes a built-in sensitivity read, so you know your story is landing with care as well as impact. Sensitivity Reading
A sensitivity read is a professional check on how your script handles identity, culture, and lived experiences. It highlights unintentional stereotypes, biases, or tired tropes that can creep in without notice. By bringing in this perspective, you protect both your story and your audience—making sure your characters come across as authentic, respectful, and layered rather than flat or offensive. It isn’t about censoring your creativity, it’s about strengthening it so your script resonates for the right reasons.
I specialise in reading scripts that explore female characters, midlife experiences, chronic illness, working-class stories, ADHD, and childlessness. These are areas that often get overlooked or misrepresented on screen, and a careful eye can make all the difference. Proofreading
Proofreading is the quickest way to make your work stand out for the right reasons. Typos and grammar slips can make even the best writing look rushed, but a professional proofread gives your script or story that final polish. I’ll catch the little things you’ve stopped noticing and smooth out anything that interrupts the flow, so your readers stay hooked on the story instead of the mistakes. It’s the easiest upgrade you can give your work before sending it out into the world.
Prices start at £0.015 per word for short stories and novels, or £2 per page for scripts. That means a 5,000-word story would be around £75, and a feature-length script (90 pages) about £180. Every project is different, so I’ll give you a clear quote up front—no surprises, just a professional proofread that makes your writing shine.
Writing Accountability
Writing doesn’t have to be a solo endurance test. An accountability service gives you steady support so your project keeps moving forward—without the burnout or the guilt trips. I’ll be your writing wingperson: someone who understands the creative highs, the energy dips, and the messiness of the middle, and helps you keep showing up to the page.
Options:
Zoom Session – £45 for one hour. We’ll sort your goals, talk through roadblocks, and create a clear plan of action.
Email Check-Ins – £80 per month. Regular check-ins to keep you on track, with space to vent, celebrate wins, and keep the words flowing.
Two Check-Ins – £60 per month. One at the start of the month to set goals, and one at the end to celebrate progress (and troubleshoot what got in the way). Combine with email check-ins for a discounted rate, so you’re never left spinning your wheels.
Add-On Zoom – £30 for a 30-minute mid-month boost. Perfect if you need extra accountability or a momentum reset.
